Apple’s iTunes U has reached more than 100 million downloads since it was first launched in April 2003. For those unfamiliar with iTunes U, it is a part of the iTunes Store which is specialized in featuring free lectures, language lessons, audio-books, from over 175 higher education organizations. It includes lectures from Princeton University, UCLA, Harvard University, MIT, NYU Medical School, Oxford, Cambridge, Georgetown, DePaul, Duke, and Yale University.
Apple states that one of the most popular universities on iTunes U to date has been Open University, which is a UK-based educational organization which is dedicated to distance learning,and include programs in all major fields such as Arts and Humanities, Business and Management, Law, Psychology, and Science.
Apple says they hope more Colleges and Universities will continue to offer their lectures on iTunes U!
