One of the smaller updates of the WWDC 2010 has been the renaming of the operating software which is used on the iPhone, iPod and lately on the iPad, the software previously known as the iPhone OS, has been renamed and is now simply known as iOS4. Personally we think that as this OS has been introduced on more hardware, it just didn’t make sense to continue referring to it as an iPhone OS.
iOS 4 will be publicly released on June 21st. It will be a free upgrade for existing iPhone and iPod touch owners, though depending on the age of your device not all features many be available. This is the first time that a major OS update has been free for iPod touch owners.
