Apple releases find my iPhone app for iPhone

Earlier today Apple released a new offical app for the iPhone, the Find my iPhone app, similar to the already present app in MobileMe, if your iPhone or iPad goes missing, then you can log in with your MobileMe on any other iPhone, iPad or iPod and then find it. When the App finds the iPhone, it maps the location, and then allows you to “display a message on the iPhone or iPad’s screen, have it play a sound (even if silenced), remote lock it or even wipe it clean.”

While the App sounds brilliant, it does depend on you having a 2nd device to find the first one. The App can be downloaded from the App Store, is free, even though you will need a MobileMe account, which costs $99 yearly.
