Normally Apple holds their iPod related events in September, however several sources are reporting that Apple might change the timeframe and hold their event in August, with the 16th or 17th being thrown around as possible dates.
Several tech sites are rumoring that Apple will release an update to their very popular iPod Touch, the new device is supposed to include a front-facing camera for FaceTime, as well as a rear camera with flash for taking pictures. It also said that Apple will add a gyroscope to the next-generation iPod touch — all features found in the recently released iPhone 4.
We think the August event would also be a good time to introduce the new revamped iLife 11, which as we reported earlier was supposed to be released during August. Rumors of an Apple update within the iPod line have gained popularity during the past few weeks, with several sites uploading mock-ups of potential iPod casings.
