Apple continues to work towards complete world domination, as the iPhone continues to eat up the market share of its competitors. The iPhone has helped Apple push Nokia away from the pole position as the top smartphone seller in Australia.
According to reports from The Sydney Morning Herald, Apple currently accounts for 36.5 percent of the smartphone market versus Nokia’s 30.5 percent share. You might remember that Nokia pushed Palm away from the throne in 2002, and are expected to remain one of the most dangerous competitors.
According to TUAW “The future will remain competitive in the smartphone market since Android’s market share is currently growing faster than Apple’s. For now, though, Apple is leading the trend in Australia and the next year will be interesting for smartphone analysts in Australia.”
