Apple to open Mac App store Thursday Jan 6th at 12 p.m. EST

Earlier Apple announced that it would open the Mac App Store on Thursday, Jan. 6. Now it has officially been confirmed that Apple will open the service at 12 p.m. Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific.

According to Apple the new store will be as easy to use as any other App Store by adding:

“Enter the same iTunes password you use to buy apps on iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. And within seconds, your new app flies to your Dock, ready to go,”

Apple said the apps will run on all Macs and the Mac App Store is available to Mac OS X Snow Leopard users as a free download through Software Update. So keep your Macs ready for the update, and we will give you the low-down as soon as we have tried it ourselves.
