As 9to5Mac reports, there’s a brand new build of Lion 10.7.2 out there in the wild for developers, featuring focused work on iCloud, the Mac App Store, MobileMe, and a few other places like Mail, Spotlight, Time Machine, and even things like the AddressBook and graphics drivers.
This is build 11C57, coming only a few days after the last build, 11C55. We’d like to think that the increasing frequency of releases (along with the fact that there are no known issues in this build) means that a public release is right around the corner, but of course Apple is going to take its time.
We are wondering what Apple keeps changing in the Mac OS X 10.6.7 beta, while we thought the previous one was close to release, the Cupertino company has released a new beta of Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers, and now Apple has released the seventh (and hopefully final) beta of the next version of Snow Leopard to developers.
According to Mac developers and a report on AppleInsider, build 10J868 has no known issues, but Apple is requesting that they focus on Safari, the Mac App Store, AirPort, Bonjour, SMB, and graphics drivers.
Mac OS X 10.6.7 is widely expected to be the last available version of Snow Leopard, now that Apple has released an early beta of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to developers.
The release of Mac OS X 10.6.7 is expected by many bloggers to come within the next week, although its availability might be slowed by the impending release of iOS 4.3 and the iPad 2.
According to AppleInsider Apple has seeded another beta build of Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers for testing. Those of you who downloaded the previous build will know that Build 10J855 comes just over a week after the previous beta release. This is the fourth build of 10.6.7 to be released within the last four weeks.
Apple is requesting that developers continue to test AirPort, SMB file sharing, Bonjour, graphics drivers and the Mac App Store application. No known issues are reported with this build. The combo build weighs in at 1 GB and 412.6 MB for the delta build.
Even though the latest update to Mac OS X 10.6.5 still hasn’t been released to end users yet, Apple has already started seeding early builds of 10.6.6 to developers.
A few days ago we posted that the release of 10.6.5 is just around the corner, so the news of Apple working on 10.6.6 only confirms the rumors.
If you look at the size of the 10.6.6 download you will see that with 3.7 MB the changes to the operating system wont be earth shattering, however what will be a huge change will be the release of the Mac App Store which is expected to be included in the new build.
If you have already downloaded the build and have noticed any huge changes please feel free to drop us a comment.
